A search for his name returned other people's LinkedIn and Facebook profiles. Nothing said who he was or what he did. Here's what the team changed, week by week.
Shobin K Jose had run IgniteFirst, a white-label link building agency, since 2017. Anyone who looked him up before working with IgniteFirst found little to go on.
A search for his name showed scattered LinkedIn profiles and Facebook pages, many of them belonging to other people with the same or a similar name. Nothing confirmed who he was, what his company did or why anyone should trust it.
He had also left very little for Google to work with. He didn't post on LinkedIn or Facebook, had no active YouTube channel and had few interviews or publications to his name. The team sells Knowledge Panels to experts, so it decided to practice what it preaches and make Shobin its first project.
"Nothing concrete was showing about who I am or what I do."
The team collected every page that mentioned his name by hand, then checked each one to confirm it was really about him. It sorted his profiles into owned ones it could edit and third-party ones it mostly could not. These were the problems that mattered most:
With so little content to point to, the plan was to make every fact about him match everywhere Google looked. Most of the work was done in the first three weeks.
The team wrote one bio at several lengths and used the same facts, in the same words, on every profile he owned. The third-party pages stayed as they were.
A one-page personal site at shobinkjose.com became the source of truth: proof that he is a real person, with these credentials, and the one a searcher is looking for. The copy names the people, places and organizations around him so Google can map them.
Person markup on the site ties him to established entities: IgniteFirst, Cochin University of Science and Technology, where he earned his degree in computer science and engineering, his location and his key platforms. Tier-2 profiles were left out on purpose.
The site links out to each key platform, and each platform links back to the site. Every time Google crawls one of these pages, it finds the same facts confirmed in both directions, and its confidence in the entity grows.
Through all ten weeks, the team kept adding mentions of him on platforms relevant to his industry and to business owners in general.
Audit, bios, entity home and schema. The Knowledge Graph result score rose from 12 to 24.
New mentions kept going live. By week 7 a partial panel appeared for his name.
Full Knowledge Panel live in Google search
Claimed by ShobinThe panel settled. For the first few weeks it behaved unpredictably while Google connected the sources and made sure the search really meant him.
Google ties the panel to the exact name used on every profile: Shobin K Jose. The shorter "Shobin Jose" is shared by many people, and it still shows no panel.
Full panel: Entrepreneur, photos, age, education and an About summary. Google rotates the source of the About text, which currently comes from a Webflow profile rather than the entity home.
No panel. His LinkedIn sits among profiles for other people with the same name. One result about another person is blurred.
Once his name search confirmed who he was, IgniteFirst saw more inbound leads and more referrals. The bigger change was the idea behind this site: the method the team used on Shobin became DotVisible.
Shobin started with less online presence than most of the experts we work with. If your footprint is thin, that's a starting point, not a barrier.
This project started with the same audit the team runs for every client.
